M.Sc. (Biotechnology)
The MSc Biotechnology program at School of Biotechnology, JNU has been running for the past 30 years with DBT support. The previous national CEEB examination conducted by JNU for selection and admissions of students for the MSc Biotechnology program has now been replaced by the Graduate Aptitude Test for Biotechnology (GAT-B) and is now being organized by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad. Total current intake of students at School of Biotechnology, JNU is 30. For admission of M.Sc. program, important dates, results, and other important announcements, please visit GAT-B page on RCB website (https://rcb.res.in/DBTPG/).
The SBT M.Sc. program provides (a) cutting edge research-oriented teaching and hands on training program (b) Top quality faculty with interdisciplinary expertise and proven credibility. Some of the unique attributes of SBT for M.Sc. Biotechnology program are:
- * SBT has received top rating in conducting the M.Sc. Biotech program for >25 years
- * Leadership role in organizing M.Sc. biotech entrance exam (CEEB) for more than two decades
- * SBT alumni are globally placed at key positions in Academia, Research Institutes and Industry
- * Fully prepared to meet the emerging demand of Biotech workforce
- * Strong Industry liaison, including patent filing, starting new companies & transferring technology
In addition to the theory courses, the programme places particular emphasis on practical training. The rigorous project work and wet / dry lab training makes students capable of designing and performing experiments independently. Students are trained in Scientific communication skills, critical analysis, biosafety & bioethics, intellectual property rights, innovation and entrepreneurial skills and so on.
